Full-cassette awnings in Almeria
Retracted, everything is inside the box.
A full-cassette awning is a folding-arm awning with one difference: when you retract it, the fabric and the arms go inside an aluminium box. From outside you only see the closed cassette, and the fabric stays protected from sun, dust and rain while it isn't in use. You may also know it as a cassette awning or box awning.
We fit them over porches, terraces and fronts of houses across Almeria. Every photo on this page is one we installed.
Over the pool porch
At this house we fitted two blue cassette awnings along the porch facing the pool. Open, they shade the whole seating area; closed, the porch is clear and the fabric put away.
On the front of the house
The cassette can also go on the wall above the entrance porch or the patio doors, so the shade reaches out into the garden. This one has a light-coloured fabric.
With a wind sensor
An open awning acts like a sail in strong wind. A wind sensor makes it retract on its own when it detects gusts. This navy-blue cassette over a terrace has one.

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference from a standard folding-arm awning?
Both open on arms. On a cassette awning, the fabric and arms retract into a closed box; on a standard one they stay exposed.
Can it close by itself in the wind?
Yes, with a wind sensor. Several of the awnings on this page have one.

Shade sails
A shade sail is a fabric sheet fixed by its corners to posts or to the wall. It gives shade without a roof structure: over a patio, a play area or by the pool. If you are interested, tell us about the spot and we will look at it when we measure.
