A vertical awning drops from top to bottom and closes an opening: the front of a porch, the side of a pergola, a balcony or an arch. It blocks the low afternoon sun, cuts the breeze and gives privacy, and when you raise it the space is open again. Also known as exterior roller blinds or screen blinds.
We fit several kinds, depending on how much you want to see through and how closed you want it. Every photo on this page is one we installed.
With a clear window
The fabric has a clear panel in the middle, so with the blind down you can still see the garden. We have closed whole porches like this, some with side channels so the fabric drops straight and fits snugly.
Screen fabric
Screen fabric filters the sun and still lets you see out. It looks very clean in arches, windows and porch fronts: down, it looks like an enclosure; up, it disappears into its box.
Classic fabric
The traditional fabric blind, plain or striped, to close the side of a pergola or the front of a porch.

With screen fabric or a clear window, yes. With standard fabric, no: it gives more privacy.

Shade sails
A shade sail is a fabric sheet fixed by its corners to posts or to the wall. It gives shade without a roof structure: over a patio, a play area or by the pool. If you are interested, tell us about the spot and we will look at it when we measure.
